- I'm noticing an oddity when using Zmodem from a machine reached via
- telnet. The scenario is:
-
- Dial into a modem server.
- Connect via a telnet session to an internal machine.
- Use Zmodem to transfer a binary file.
-
- The file comes across fine (no corruption). And I've moved enough files
- to feel confident that this behaviour is independent of the file contents.
- At the end of the transfer the download is "aborted". Please note, the
- abort always happens at the END of transmission. The network is 8-bit clean,
- and the "telnet" session does not interpret any characters
- (no escape commands).
-
- This only happens on binary files, ascii files move across without error.
-
- This is an annoyance. I would like to be able to send batches of files,
- but when the transfer is "aborted" the batch transfer stops.
-
- We're using Chuck Forsberg's zmodem which was distributed to comp.sources.unix
- a few years ago. A good program. This behaviour does not depend on command
- line options. For the record "sz -Zbe, sz -Zb, and sz -b" all abort at the
- end.
-
- Any ideas/suggestions?
